February - April 2021

Project

Made up of 30 polaroids taken at 5:38pm every evening from the 19th February to the 20th March, this project documents the change in season. I started the project as I had noticed (before the announcement of the lockdown restrictions lifting plans) that in January/February everyone I was talking to about the lockdown always said ‘at least it will be lighter for longer soon’. I took it as people hyper focusing on the upcoming change in season as them using it as a beacon of hope when everything seemed hopeless.

After the month had finished I continued the project to capture even more of the brighter evenings and created the piece The Light Will Come.

The Light Will Come 2021

Out of the project came The Light Will Come, a print made up of 30 Polaroids all shot between the 19th February and 19th April documenting the change in season. Moving from one of the darkest times of the pandemic to the light at the end of the tunnel, it symbolises that out of dark times, the light will come.

Available in three sizes, A5, A3 and A2.

All prints are giclee prints printed on 290gsm Fotospeed Smooth Pearl paper.
