5th - 26th March 2021
This exhibition took place online, through instagram and in the window of the LCB Depot in Leicester. It highlighted still and moving image from analogue to online by artists with links to Leicestershire. My pieces consisted of 4 A5 35mm black and white photographs mounted on black paper and presented in a 30cm x 40cm frame from a project that I developed whilst on residency with Modern Painters, New Decorators in Loughborough.
The photographs exhibited in this exhibition were taken for a project exploring the areas around my current and two former family homes. I let the space guide me wherever it wanted me to go and photographed what I was drawn to. The initial lockdown due to COVID-19 was the first extended period of time I was spending in my family’s new town whilst calling it home. Having to spend such an intense amount of time in a place that didn’t feel mine led me to consider what about a place makes it feel like home. I wandered through the changing landscapes, reflecting on my connection to them. I found that some connections were still strong, many had been lost and others were still yet to be made.
