THE X-COLLAB - 01/BLUE

01/Blue was an exhibition featuring artworks created by swapping work made to the theme of ‘blue’. It was organised, produced and curated by The X-Collab. Each of the 152 artists involved were paired up, swapped artworks and created a new piece of work from their partners original image. You can see the exhibition virtually here.

For my image for the swap I chose to use one of the polaroids from my 5:38pm project, 23/02/21. I felt the delicate variation of blues made it the perfect image for the theme. To see what my partner for the swap, Andrei Damian, did with my image click here.
When re-imaging Andrei’s piece, I responded to his themes of digital space and texture and wanted to rework my Arch, Montgomery. piece, which explores physical space. I printed and scanned Andrei’s original image multiple times to decrease the quality and increase the texture. I replaced areas of the photograph to create an image that both explores a physical and digital space.
